I have planned to talk about this phone for almost 3 weeks now. But I wanted to only talk about it after testing it. So I kept telling myself someone somewhere would buy it and I’ll get to use it through them. That didn’t happen. And I couldn’t get through to Cubot Kenya (are they official?) to test it. So this will be tagged under the “Quick Reviews” category as we’ll only be believing what Cubot have posted about the phone, and then I’ll be giving you my opinions on the device. It is a really well spec’d device. And is only Ksh. 7499! Here it is by the way:
Why I really wanted to share with you about this device is because it has pretty good specs at its price range. And now I know most of you will be confused as to what choice to go for, but that’s what it is like nowadays. Very many phone companies. Very many choices. But it is all good for us consumers as the competition and saturation helps us enjoy low prices.
Specs:
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- 13MP back camera
- 5MP front camera
- 5 inch display with 720p resolution
- 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- 2200mAh battery which Cubot claims really lasts
Now I know most of you will say the original Infinix Hot 3 is better and costs almost the same. Yes that’s very true. And I’d personally opt for the Hot 3 over this one. But people love variety, and this is a matter of choice.
I have a problem with Cubot phones however. Read this post titled General Problems with most Cubot phones. Meaning I am kind of skeptical about the 13MP and 2200mAh battery on the Cubot Rainbow. But after viewing the official post by Cubot –> click here, I think the phone can be really good. Or it could really disappoint too…
It is well designed, looks nicely finished in build quality and has good specs. If you have it please share your small review with us in the comments sections below.
What do you think: is it a good phone to go for? Which other options would you suggest for someone who wants a 7k phone?
