TECNO Camon 17 now available for Pre-Order on Masoko

It seems TECNO Mobile Kenya has launched the new Camon 17 Series in the market with the very first headliner being a Camon 17 with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and a Helio G85 Processor.

The device will retail for KES. 22,799 on Safaricom’s Masoko. And is currently available for preorder with a deposit if KES. 6,900.

If you preorder the device, according to the Masoko listing, you’ll be getting the following benefits:

2. Get free KES. 2,000 Safaricom Airtime
3. Get a free TECNO Smartwatch
4. Get a free TECNO Water bottle

Since this is Safaricom, please note that the device they sell may most probably be a single-SIM device. Neither TECNO nor Safaricom has stated anything to be able to know if the device is dual or single-SIM. Which of course means it is Single-SIM. This means if you want a Dual-SIM version, you’ll need to wait for TECNO to avail the phone with other retailers. That could also mean better prices since Safaricom-sold devices are usually more expensive.

The new Camon 17 brings a 90Hz display on a 6.6 inch phone. There’s a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. At the back there’s a triple camera setup with the main sensor being 48MP. At the front, there’s a single cutout on the left which houses the 16MP camera.

The phone comes running Android 11 with TECNO’s HiOS skin on top. At a retail price of KES. 22,799 the phone competes directly with the new Redmi NOTE 10 Series from Xiaomi which features Full-HD AMOLED displays with Snapdragon processors.

It is not yet clear what other devices will be part of the Camon 17 Series. Going with the Camon 16 Series, we may see the following devices later on in Kenya, or for different markets:
