Huawei MatePad 11 now available in Kenya for KES 60,000

Huawei has today announced availability of their MatePad 11 tablet in Kenya. The tablet will retail for KES 59,999 and is available across Huawei Experience Stores.

This is one of the few new Android tablets you can currently get in the market. However, in a few months, we should see many more as more companies are reviving their tablet lineups this year.

Display:

The MatePad 11 is the first-ever Huawei tablet to support 120 Hz refresh rate. This should offer a great experience on the 10.95-inch IPS LCD panel which has a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Huawei says, in addition to the tablet’s ability to produce incredible colours, it is also designed to minimise users’ exposure to blue light and flickers, two of the primary factors causing eye fatigue.

Performance:

The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. It comes with 6GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

The device runs on HarmonyOS version 2 which brings new experiences and support for features like multi-screen collaboration, floating windows, App multiplier, mirror mode, and even the new-gen Huawei M-Pencil.

Audio:

Huawei says the MatePad 11 delivers an immersive audio experience with the quad-channel large-amplitude quad-speaker system. These speakers what Huawei calls room-filling, immersive sounds for any type of audio content. According to the company, the speakers are tuned by expert engineers at Harman/Kardon to ensure the sound from the speakers is faithful to the source material.

New UI:

The new MatePad 11 brings a new desktop UI which the company explains presents the most important information in a clean, organised manner.

There’s:

  1. A new Dock at the bottom that shows the most frequently used and recently used apps
  2. New Service Widgets that display real-time information and allow users to access certain app features without launching the apps themselves.

These widgets can be placed anywhere and are also fully customisable for users to personalise their device according to their preferences.

2nd Gen Huawei M-Pencil:

The 2nd Gen Huawei stylus has been upgraded to better help users capture their inspiration. The stylus features a new platinum-coated pen nib, ultra-low latency and support for up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Huawie says that it sought inspiration from clear-case luxury watches to sign the new transparent pen tip. It comes with a frosted texture for a better handwriting experience.

When paired with the MatePad 11, the M-Pencil has a low input latency of as low as 2ms. Pairing and charging the stylus with the tablet are also as effortless as ever. Users need only move the stylus next to the HUAWEI MatePad 11 to magnetically attach it and initiate both processes.
