Vivo Y21 Launching in Kenya next week

Vivo has announced it is planing to refresh its Y-series in the Kenyan market with the launch of the Vivo Y21 on 28th September. We expect a price point of around kES 20,000 given what we saw with the Vivo Y20s.

The company claims the Vivo Y21 will be the slimmest 5,000mAh-backed phone with an 8.0mm design. It is a budget phone with the same 6.51 inch display we saw with its previous iterations. The resolution is still at 1600x720p. The processor powering the phone is the Helio P35 from 2018.

The phone comes with 4GB RAM with the option to extend it by an extra 1GB, an upgraded function Vivo has introduced to make the device faster, and smoother when handling heavy operations such as games and multitasking. The extra 1GB will be drawn from the phone’s storage and used as virtual RAM.

“We seek to continue creating products with high performance and trendsetting design at an affordable price, vivo Y21, will be an exciting model that covers the key aspects yet affordable,” the company says in a press release.
