About the YouthADAPT Challenge 2023
The YouthADAPT Challenge, now in its third edition, is a prestigious annual competition spearheaded by the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program. This program is a collaborative initiative between the African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation. The challenge seeks to identify, support, and scale innovative solutions and business ideas from young entrepreneurs that contribute significantly to climate change adaptation and resilience.
Focus on Female Tech Innovators
This year, the challenge is casting a spotlight on female-owned enterprises that are at the forefront of integrating Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in their solutions. These technologies include but are not limited to artificial intelligence, big data analytics, virtual reality, robotics, the internet of things, quantum computing, additive manufacturing, blockchain, and fifth-generation wireless technologies.
Prizes and Support
Winners of the YouthADAPT Challenge 2023 stand to gain significantly. Each winner will receive a cash prize of $100,000, supported by mentorship and coaching to help them scale their solutions and refine their business models. Additionally, winners will gain membership to the YouthADAPT Alumni Network, connecting them with a vibrant community of youth entrepreneurs across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Lead ventures that are youth-led, offering tangible and innovative solutions to real-life climate challenges.
- Have ventures that are registered and operational within Africa, boasting at least two years’ worth of accounts.
