Insights At a Glance:

  • 26 TECNO devices were updated in July 2025, up from 17 in June, including the new CAMON 40 series.
  • TECNO’s list reflects all devices updated during July, not just those that received the July security patch.
  • A high-risk app vulnerability (CVE-2025-7703) was also patched, improving overall device security.

TECNO is keeping the momentum going when it comes to software updates, and this time, they’re showing up with an even bigger crowd.

As part of its ongoing transparency efforts, TECNO has published the list of devices that were updated during the month of July 2025, and it’s grown considerably. A total of 26 TECNO smartphones made the cut, up from just 17 devices in June. That’s a notable jump, especially for a brand that hasn’t always had the best reputation for regular updates.

And leading this expanded group is none other than the CAMON 40 family, which has officially joined the party.

The CAMON 40, 40 Pro, and 40 5G models are now confirmed to be “up to date”, having received the latest security patches before the month wrapped up. That’s a solid win for buyers of TECNO’s sleekest CAMONs yet, and a step in the right direction for brand trust and after-sale support.

If you’ve got one of TECNO’s latest in the SPARK 40 series, you may be wondering why your phone is missing from this list. The likely reason? It just launched recently, and TECNO appears to be keeping to its update cadence where new devices typically receive their first security patches in the following month or two.

Security fix for a high-risk app flaw

As part of these July updates, TECNO quietly patched a high-severity vulnerability affecting its tech.palm.id mobile application.

  • CVE ID: CVE-2025-7703
  • Severity: High
  • Issue: An authentication vulnerability in version 2.5.0.65 of the app could have potentially exposed user information.
  • Fix released: July 16, 2025

Props to Dzmitry Lukyanenka, the security researcher who discovered the flaw and helped TECNO close it up before it became a bigger problem.

With TECNO gradually tightening its software game both in pushing timely patches and addressing vulnerabilities, the company is showing signs of maturing into a more update-reliable brand. Whether you’re rocking a budget POP or a flashy CAMON 40 Pro, it’s good to know your device is being looked after.
