
If you’ve tried to repay Fuliza today, whether by receiving money or topping up your M-Pesa balance, and nothing moved, you’re not alone. Kenyans across the country have noticed something unusual: Fuliza simply isn’t deducting.
Normally, Fuliza is that silent roommate who grabs their share the second cash walks through the door. But today? It’s gone eerily quiet. Some users thought they’d been granted a surprise public holiday from deductions, only to realize it’s actually a service hiccup.
After a flood of complaints online, Safaricom support has now confirmed Fuliza is experiencing a technical issue. The company says its team is actively working to resolve the problem, though they haven’t given a timeline for when things will return to normal.
The issue appears to have started earlier today. At first, Safaricom support responses hinted at a repayment-specific problem. But in their more recent responses, they’ve broadened the explanation, calling it a “technical issue with the service,” without diving into the finer details.
For now, if you’ve deposited or received money and your Fuliza balance is still sitting pretty, don’t get too comfortable. Once the service is back online, deductions are likely to catch up.
