Some Facebook users are experiencing issues accessing the social media platform, with reports of disruptions affecting Facebook and Messenger in various regions.
Meta has acknowledged the problem and says it is investigating the issue.
In a statement shared on X, Meta’s Head of Communications, Andy Stone, said:
"We're aware people are currently having trouble accessing our services. We're working on it."
The exact scope of the outage remains unclear, but user reports on outage tracking platforms and social media suggest that some people have been unable to access Facebook, load feeds, or use Messenger normally. Interestingly, the issue appears to be affecting users differently. While some users continue to experience disruptions, services seem to have already started recovering for others.
I briefly encountered issues accessing Facebook Messenger earlier, although it wasn’t immediately clear that it was part of a wider outage. A fresh check now suggests that Messenger is working normally again, indicating that Meta may already be making progress in restoring affected services.
