Samsung Mobile Kenya has unveiled the 2024 lineup of their A-Series smartphones. The new additions include the Galaxy A05, Galaxy A05s, Galaxy A15 LTE, Galaxy A15 5G, and Galaxy A25 5G. These models join the already existing A-Series lineup from past years, offering a range of options that cater to varying consumer needs and preferences. This year, the cheapest phone starts at KES 17,000. That’s a significant jump. And the A2-series is now up to KES 50,000 which is just weird.

The Galaxy A25 5G, currently positioned as the highest end among the 2024 Samsung A-Series lineup, features a 6.5″ FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring vibrant colours and fluid motion for an immersive mobile experience. The phone’s 50MP OIS quad camera setup allows users to capture life’s moments in stunning detail, from wide landscapes to intricate close-ups. Priced at KES 50,000 for the 8GB/256GB variant and KES 43,000 for the 6GB/128GB version, it offers high-end features at a competitive price.

In contrast, the Galaxy A15 5G and A15 LTE cater to users seeking a balance of performance and affordability. The A15 5G, priced at KES 33,000 for the 6GB/128GB and KES 30,000 for the 4GB/128GB models, features a 50MP triple camera and ample storage. The A15 LTE, with its 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED 90Hz display, is available at KES 29,000 for the 6GB/128GB and KES 27,000 for the 4GB/128GB variants, offering a superb viewing experience.

The Galaxy A05s and A05 are the more budget-friendly options in the lineup. The A05s, with its vibrant display and triple-camera system, ranges from KES 26,000 to KES 21,000 based on memory and storage configurations. The A05, offering a 6.7-inch HD+ display and dual camera, is priced between KES 19,000 and KES 17,000.

Later in the year, Samsung is expected to expand the 2024 A-Series further with the potential introduction of the Galaxy A35, A55, and A75. However, consumers should note that prices may be higher due to the falling USD to KES rate and Samsung’s own pricing adjustments. So we may never see them launch locally, perhaps not to compete with the S24 Series to be announced later this month.
