Everyone I know with a Samsung phone is constantly complaining about their battery life. I’m just from laughing at my friend whose Note 4 doesn’t last even 3hrs.
When Infinix, many many months ago, launched the Hot Note – one of the most bought phones in Kenya ever – I got myself one. Why? Well, it was cheap. Was running a new version of Android (with the promise of updates), had an excellent camera, and had a massive battery, 4000mAh.
And Infinix has now curved a serious share of the Kenyan market for itself. So it seems, as one might conclude, that good battery life, and relatively good specifications at a nice price would attract many Kenyans. And with that a new company (not so new, you’ve heard of X-TIGI) introduced its new killer: the X-TIGI S1553 which goes for only Ksh. 7499 on Jumia.
Here is the S1553:
The phone specifications include:
- 5.5 inch HD IPS Display
- 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor
- 16GB Internal storage
- 1GB RAM
- 8MP rear camera
- 5MP front camera
- Android 5.1 Lollipop
If you buy if from Jumia, it comes with
- a free leather case
- free screen protector
- and one month free premium Mdundo Music subscription
The main highlight of this phone is not all that I have mentioned though. Rather, it is the battery. The massive 6000mAh battery!
I am here thinking all the things one could do with a 6000mAh battery. I mean with a 5.5 inch 720p screen and a 1.3GHz Quad Core processor, there’s not much you’re pushing to drain your battery.
I currently use the TECNO Boom J8 and its 3000mAh battery can easily give me upto 7hrs screen on time! So I wonder how long one can last with this phone, if everything battery-wise is true.
The only problem I foresee is that you’ll need patience while charging this phone. It will take quite some time to charge to 100%.
Tell me what you think of the phone. It is really cheap. I must do a full review soon.
You can get the X-TIGI S1553 right now from Jumia.
Gadget Rating
Cheap, relatively powerful, well designed, HUGE battery. Only problem is the fast charging and the RAM.
