The issue with 10k phones having 1GB RAM is officially over. Or should be. We’ve seen the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 launch at Ksh. 9999 with 2GB RAM, and now we have the Redmi 6A launching on Jumia (http://bit.ly/2N5pn0Q) at Ksh. 9,299.
I will be unboxing the device soon, and sharing my first thoughts, and later on my full review. What I have is the 2GB/16GB version. There’s the 2GB/32GB internal storage that goes for Ksh. 11,999.
Like the Y5 Prime 2018, there’s no fingerprint scanner. Instead there’s Face Unlock that uses the front camera. Which to me makes no sense because we’ve seen under 8k phones with fingerprint scanners. And fooling the Face Unlock feature is pretty easy since there’s no sophisticated tech, just the front camera. Don’t take my word however, because I am yet to unbox and review the phone. Will try fooling the camera to unlock and see.
