Here’s the Infinix HOT 8

The specs are down below.

Back in March of this year, Infinix KENYA introduced to the market the Infinix HOT 7 at KES. 10,999. It came with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The major problem with the device was it was a 3G only device. That put me and many others off. A 3G only device in 2019 made no sense.

In July of this year, Infinix introduced the same HOT 7 in India. But this time round it came with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and 4G/LTE support. Its retail price was set at Rs 7,999 which is approximately KES. 11,650.

Infinix NOTE 40 Series Kenya

As you can see, Infinix brought a weak device to the Kenyan market, but launched a more powerful one in India for less than KES. 2,000 more. Which makes no sense. The company had promised a HOT 7 PRO which never happened. The HOT 7 PRO launched in India came with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage for just Rs. 9,999 which is about KES. 14,500.

Anyways, the successor to the HOT 7 is coming later on this month in India. The box and design of the device have already been released online.

Whether or not this is the model that we will be seeing in Kenya remains unknown. However, if Infinix wants to remain relevant in this market where this year the Samsung A-series, and Huawei’s Y-series have shaken things up, then they need to act fast, and be different.

These specs will be updated once fully confirmed.
