Realme has today launched MagDart which it is calling “the world’s fastest magnetic wireless Android charger”. This is a 50W charger that borrows the idea from Apple’s Magsafe that came with the iPhone 12.
Actually, the company has decided that just like Apple, it wants to build a whole ecosystem with different magnetic charging accessories for its MagDart technology.
They’re also introducing what they call the first Android smartphone to support magnetic wireless charging. This is the Realme Flash which comes with a dual cell 4500mAh battery. Realme says with MagDart, the phone can charge from 0% to 20% in 5 minutes, and from 0% to 100% in 54 minutes.
For a long time now, it has always felt like something only becomes mainstream after Apple does it. Android makers have been quick and unapologetic in copying Apple’s moves. We saw this with the headphone jack, with the notch, with AirPods, and recently with Apple’s decision to remove the charger.
Now we are seeing it with the magnetic wireless charger Apple recently introduce with the iPhone 12.
MagDart Charger:
Yeah, it is beefy! According to Realme, it is the world’s fastest magnetic wireless charger.
Realme explains that it features an active air cooling system that keeps the mainboard and coil temperatures at a reasonable level with a compact and powerful fan that can quickly remove heat by drawing a large airflow into the charger so that it can maintain the charging power at a high level for a longer time.
MagDart 15W:
This is a 15W charger, just like Apple’s MagSafe. Realme says the thing that makes this different is that it is very thin at only 3.9mm. The official release describes it as the “thinnest ever magnetic wireless charger”.
MagDart Power bank:
This is a 2-in-1 power bank. It has a special charging base for the Realme Flash phone. Thus, the two can be paired together to become a vertical charging station. The phone can get charged from the power bank, and the base can charge the battery bank at the same time.
This is so that if you need to charge on the go, the power bank can be pulled up and attached to the smartphone. The company says this power bank is designed with white vegan leather and aluminium.

Realme has also introduced to its ecosystem accessories to accompany the Realme Flash phone. This include:
- MagDart Beauty Light – this has been designed for portrait photography. It can be easily connected to the phone via MagDart and powered via reverse charging to provide an extra flashlight when taking selfies.
- MagDart wallet – this is used as a kickstand to hold the phone up when watching movies or making video calls and can store stuff in the pouch.
- realme GT MagDart Charging Case – this enables the compatibility for the Realme GT with MagDart accessories. The case connects through the Type-C connector and allows the phone to be charged wirelessly via the MagDart technology.
