Xiaomi Kenya recently introduced the Redmi NOTE 11 Series to the market. I have been using the Redmi NOTE 11S for a while now, and will have a review of it in the coming days. However, before that, I would like to share a small opinion piece on why the base-line device is the best value for money phone in its category.
It comes with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB UFS 2.2 storage. Most of the devices at this price range feature eMMC storage which is slower, and now old tech. If you want to complain about the size of RAM and Storage, please remember the price, and the processor down below. Also, you can expand storage with a MicroSD card, and with future updates you may enjoy MiUI’s RAM extension.
The phone features a 50MP main camera. This is great not just from the number, but also from the shots. The rest of the rear cameras have nothing much to talk about, so don’t get it for that. However, the 13MP selfie camera is quite good for its price.
All that is okay.
However the following features are why I believe the phone is really what you should get for 20k:
- AMOLED 90Hz panel – Yep. Nothing I believe at this price point offers this. Please comment down below if you have something in mind.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 – There’s not much more I can say here, yeah? I mean this is a really good processor to get for less than 20k.
- Battery and Fast charging – Not only is the 5000mAh battery really good, and not only are you assured it will last long thanks to the processor and the AMOLED panel, you’re also getting 33W Fast Charging!
Xiaomi has been very strategic with its pricing. For 10k they have the Redmi 9A. For 20k they have the Redmi NOTE 11 and for 30k they have the Redmi NOTE 11 Pro.

I’ve got to say that you hit the nail on the head with your comments about this device. I got it for my sibling and it is an absolutely fantastic device for this price.
Frankly, this Xiaomi phone is the best value for money phone that I have seen in a while. I’ve been singing its praises until someone asked me whether Xiaomi are paying me to “shill” for them!
