Visa She’s Next Kenya Offers KES 2.5M Grants for Women Entrepreneurs

Visa has announced the launch of its She’s Next Grant Competition in Kenya. This initiative invites women business owners across the country to apply for grants, tailored training programs, and access to networking and mentoring opportunities. The application window is open until June 12th, offering a unique chance for female entrepreneurs to receive substantial support for their businesses.

She’s Next is Visa’s global advocacy program dedicated to supporting women-owned small businesses. Through funding, training, and mentorship, the program aims to create an inclusive and equitable environment where women entrepreneurs can thrive. This initiative is part of Visa’s broader mission to foster economic growth and societal progress by empowering women in business.

Women entrepreneurs from all industries and sectors are encouraged to apply for the She’s Next Grant Competition. Successful applicants will have the chance to receive grants of up to KES 2.5 million. In addition to the financial support, top applicants will benefit from training and capacity-building sessions provided by Visa and its partners. These sessions are designed to equip women with the skills and knowledge needed to grow and sustain their businesses.

Eva Ngigi-Sarwari, Visa Kenya Country Manager, expressed her excitement about the program’s launch in Kenya. “We are thrilled to bring She’s Next to Kenya and provide a platform for female entrepreneurs to flourish. We believe in the power of women to drive economic growth and societal progress. This initiative offers the resources, tools, and support women need to expand their businesses,” she said.

Patricia Okelo, Co-founder of Kayana Create, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the program’s alignment with their mission. “As the capacity-building partners of She’s Next Kenya, Kayana Create is delighted to be partnering with Visa to unlock the potential of female entrepreneurs. This initiative supports our strategy to empower talented women entrepreneurs, helping them take their businesses to the next level and fostering a vibrant community of women business owners focused on collaboration and capacity building,” she stated.

Since its inception in 2020, the She’s Next program has made significant strides globally. Visa has invested over $3 million in more than 250 grants and coaching sessions for women entrepreneurs across various countries, including the US, Canada, India, Ireland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Morocco. The program’s expansion into Kenya marks another milestone in Visa’s commitment to supporting women in business worldwide.

How to Apply for Visa She’s Next program:

Women business owners interested in participating in the She’s Next Grant Competition must submit a short application form via She’s Next Kenya website. The application should include details about their business and how the grant would support their growth. The deadline for applications is June 12th, and the winners will be announced in July.
