Microsoft is officially ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. Thatβs just a week from now.
If youβre still using Windows 10, this is your final reminder to prepare. After the deadline, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for the operating system. That means your PC will remain vulnerable to new threats unless you upgrade or opt into Microsoftβs Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which will continue providing limited security patches for a fee.
Windows 10 has been around since 2015, serving as one of Microsoftβs longest-running and most popular operating systems. But as the company shifts focus to Windows 11 and the upcoming Windows 12, the era of Windows 10 is officially winding down.
If your PC doesnβt meet Windows 11βs minimum requirements, youβll need to either stay on Windows 10 under the ESU plan, explore lightweight Linux alternatives, or consider upgrading your hardware.
In short, you have seven days to make a move before Windows 10 officially goes dark.
