X finally rolls out synced drafts across web and app

After years of user requests, X (formerly Twitter) has introduced a long-awaited feature: synced drafts between its mobile app and web platform. This update allows users to start composing a draft on their mobile device and seamlessly continue editing it on the web, or vice versa.

Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product, announced the feature on the platform, acknowledging the decade-long wait for this functionality. He stated, “After 10 years of asking, we are finally rolling out synced drafts: Drafts written on the X app will now be there when you log in on the web.”

Currently, the synced drafts feature is available on the iOS app and the web version of X. Users can create a draft on one platform and access it on the other without any additional steps. However, as of now, the feature does not support syncing media files within drafts. Bier mentioned that the team opted to release the feature sooner rather than later, even if it means some limitations remain.

While the feature is not yet available on Android, Bier confirmed that an update is in development. He noted that the Android version of the app is undergoing a redesign, and the synced drafts feature will be included upon its release.

Do your Twitter drafts sync on PC and mobile? I just had a draft on PC that I couldn't get to appear on my phone.

This enhancement addresses a significant pain point for yours truly and other users who frequently switch between devices. Previously, drafts created on one device were not accessible on another, leading to a fragmented user experience. With the introduction of synced drafts, X aims to provide a more cohesive and efficient platform for its users.
