A little over a week ago, we rounded up the growing list of Galaxy devices receiving Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update. At the time, the software had already started making its way to several budget and mid-range phones, proving that this wasn’t going to be an update reserved for flagship users.
Now, Samsung has effectively wrapped up the One UI 8.5 rollout, with another batch of Galaxy phones and tablets joining the family over the past few days.
The latest Samsung Galaxy devices to receive the One UI 8.5 update include:
Galaxy A series
- Galaxy A54
- Galaxy A34
- Galaxy A25
- Galaxy A17 5G
- Galaxy A16 5G
- Galaxy A16 (4G)
- Galaxy A15 5G
- Galaxy A06 5G
Galaxy M series
- Galaxy M55s
- Galaxy M54
- Galaxy M36
- Galaxy M35
- Galaxy M17
- Galaxy M17e
- Galaxy M16
Galaxy F series
- Galaxy F70e
- Galaxy F56
- Galaxy F55
- Galaxy F54
- Galaxy F17
- Galaxy F16
Galaxy tablets and rugged devices
- Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024)
- Galaxy XCover 7
This latest wave is particularly notable because it continues Samsung’s surprisingly broad approach to One UI 8.5. Rather than limiting the update to premium Galaxy devices, the company has extended it to a long list of affordable A-series, M-series, and F-series smartphones. In fact, one of the biggest winners here is arguably the Galaxy A06 5G. As one of Samsung’s most affordable smartphones, it now gets to enjoy many of the same visual refinements and under-the-hood improvements available on much more expensive Galaxy devices.

That makes One UI 8.5 feel like more than just another annual software refresh. For many users, especially those on entry-level hardware, it is effectively a free upgrade that breathes new life into a device they may plan to keep for several more years.

The broader rollout also highlights just how much Samsung’s software support strategy has evolved. Not too long ago, budget Android phones were often left behind after a couple of updates. Today, even lower-cost Galaxy devices are benefiting from major platform improvements alongside their pricier siblings. Of course, not every Galaxy owner has reason to celebrate. Some older flagship devices, including the Galaxy S22 series and the midrange Galaxy A53 and A33, were left out of the One UI 8.5 plans. That may be disappointing for users who paid top dollar just a few years ago.
Still, it is hard to ignore the bigger picture. By bringing One UI 8.5 to devices like the Galaxy A06 5G, Galaxy A15 5G, Galaxy M16, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Samsung has ensured that millions of everyday users, many of whom are using some of the company’s most affordable hardware, get to experience the latest version of its software without needing to buy a new phone.
And in a smartphone market where budget devices are often the first to be forgotten, that’s a win worth recognizing.
