The largest battery in a normal-looking smartphone today is the 11,000mAh cell in the Honor X80 Pro Max, which Honor launched in China in June 2026. Nothing bigger has shipped since. Below it sit six phones tied at 10,000mAh, three of which arrived in August alone. Honor’s own previous best was the 8,300mAh cell in the X9d, and that was only September 2025.
This list tries to give you a comprehensive guide if you’re looking for ultra large battery capacities on your next device. If we’ve missed any device, just add it in the comment section below.
How we ranked this
First, a phone is ranked by the highest capacity it carries in any market. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has 10,000mAh in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Xiaomi’s other global markets, and 9,210mAh in Europe and Australia. We ranked it at 10,000mAh. Where a smaller regional version exists, we only mention that.
Second, this list covers ordinary phones. Rugged builders go much higher. The Doogee V Max Pro, the Oukitel WP33 Pro and the Ulefone Armor 24 all carry 22,000mAh, and the Ulefone Armor 34 Pro Plus is rated 25,500mAh. Those are 400g bricks built around a battery. We think of them as a different product category, so they are not ranked here.

The top of the table
The Honor X80 Pro Max is the outlier, and not only for capacity. It weighs 203g and is just 8.08mm thick, which makes it lighter and thinner than several phones below it on this list with smaller batteries. It runs a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen rated at 10,000 nits peak brightness, and carries IP68 and IP69K ratings. Honor charges CNY 1,999 for the 8GB/128GB model, roughly USD 300, or about KES 38,000. Honor also says the phone set a Guinness World Record for the longest live-stream battery test, at 26 hours, 8 minutes and 34 seconds.

The vivo Y600 Pro at 10,200mAh is the only phone between the X80 Pro Max and the 10,000mAh pack. It runs a Dimensity 7300e, weighs 221g, is just 8.2mm thick and charges at 90W. vivo sells it in China from CNY 2,099, about KES 40,000.
The Honor Power 2, at 10,080mAh, was the first phone of any kind to cross 10,000mAh, on 5 January 2026. Honor gave it a Dimensity 8500 Elite, an 8mm body and 80W charging.
Realme has two phones tied at 10,001mAh. The Realme P4 Power landed in India in January and the Narzo Power followed on 5 March. Both use a Dimensity 7400 Ultra, both charge at 80W, both weigh 219g, and both hold IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings. Realme says the P4 Power cell keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 1,650 charge cycles.
Six phones tie at exactly 10,000mAh. Three are Honor’s Win series, which launched as a gaming line: the Win and Win RT arrived on 26 December 2025 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chips, and the Win Turbo followed on 30 May 2026 with a Dimensity 8500 Elite. The Win is the only phone at 10,000mAh or above with wireless charging, at 80W.
The other three at 10,000mAh all arrived in August. The iQOO Z11S launched in China on 18 August with a Dimensity 7500 and, oddly for this company, only 44W charging. The OPPO A7 Pro Max went on sale in China on 7 August with the first Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. And the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max became Xiaomi’s first 10,000mAh phone at a global launch in Malaysia on 27 August, at about USD 499, or roughly KES 64,600.

Big in China, small battery globally
Three phones on this list ship with two different cells depending on where you buy them.
- The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max drops from 10,000mAh to 9,210mAh in Europe and Australia. Xiaomi has not published a reason for the difference.
- The Redmi K100 Pro Max keeps 9,070mAh in China, but the global version of it is the POCO F9 Ultra, and that carries 8,050mAh.
- The Honor Magic8 Pro is the widest gap of the three. It has 7,200mAh in China, 7,100mAh globally and 6,270mAh in the European Union, which is 13% less than the Chinese cell.
Why big batteries all of a sudden?
All of these cells are silicon-carbon. A conventional lithium-ion battery uses graphite to hold lithium; silicon holds much more lithium in the same volume, so mixing silicon into the anode raises capacity without making the phone thicker. Xiaomi puts the silicon content in the Note 17 Pro Max cell at 16%. The Redmi K90 Pro Max uses the same 16% figure at 881Wh/L energy density. Realme’s 2025 concept phone, which was the first 10,000mAh handset anyone showed publicly, ran 10% silicon.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max has between 4,832mAh and 5,088mAh depending on whether the model has a physical SIM slot. Both are conventional lithium-ion. Samsung shipped its first silicon-carbon phones only in July 2026, in the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8, and the biggest cell in that group is 5,000mAh.
