Xiaomi Kenya have confirmed availability of the Redmi NOTE 8 in the country. You can actually already buy the device from Jumia. However the official launch will be on November 25th, with an event happening at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.
After the launch on Monday, Xiaomi says the first 100 customers will be getting free Xiaomi Earphones. Which is a nice addition given all Xiaomi products never feature earphones, and given that the ones you’re getting usually range from KES. 500 to KES. 1000.
The company have also confirmed availability of the much awaited Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A, together with the Xiaomi Mi A3. If you check Xiaomi’s official store on Jumia, you’ll find all of them already listed. I like that they’re well priced compared to other third party sellers in Kenya.
The Redmi NOTE 8 costs KES. 19,999 and for that price you get a 6.3 inch Full HD display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a 48MP main back camera. There’s a quad-camera setup at the back – which is exciting for its price point. It comes running Android 9 Pie but is receiving Android 10 in the next coming weeks.
If you’re looking for the best value for money device at less than 25k, this is the device. It beats almost every other offering we’ve seen from Samsung to TECNO. This is it. I hope Xiaomi Kenya will bring the PRO variant too sometimes soon, because that’s also one exciting phone.
