Galaxy S24 FE balances flagship-inspired features and mid-range compromises, excelling in AI and durability but struggles against alternatives.

Samsung is steadily pushing ahead with One UI 9 development, and there’s encouraging news for Galaxy Fan Edition owners ahead of this week’s Galaxy Unpacked event.

According to Samsung leaker Fahad Ali Javed on X, fresh internal One UI 9 test builds have appeared on Samsung’s servers for the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 FE, and even the Galaxy S25 Edge. All four builds are based on the July 2026 security patch, suggesting Samsung is actively refining the Android 17 update behind the scenes.

The latest test firmware includes:

Galaxy S25 FE (SM-S731B): S731BXXU8CZG6
Galaxy S24 FE (SM-S721B): S721BXXUDEZG6
Galaxy S23 FE (SM-S711B): S711BXXUHHZG6
Galaxy S25 Edge (SM-S937B): S937BXXU9DZG6

The timing isn’t surprising. Samsung is expected to unveil the stable version of One UI 9 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at Galaxy Unpacked this week. The software is currently available in beta for the Galaxy S26 series, with the Galaxy S25 expected to receive the One UI 9 beta update shortly after.

For Fan Edition users, however, beta access has never been guaranteed. Samsung has historically prioritized its flagship Galaxy S devices before rolling out stable releases to FE models, though there is a high chance the Galaxy A series might join the One UI 9 Beta program this year. Even so, these new internal builds indicate that development is progressing well and that Samsung isn’t leaving the FE lineup behind.
