Samsung Electronics has officially launched its Galaxy A-series range of devices in the Kenyan market. The move aims to cement the global electronic manufacturer’s position as the market leader in Kenya, where it already has a 31.7% unit share, according to research from IDC.
Samsung’s product accessibility strategy focuses on partnerships with device financing companies like Watu Simu, M-Kopa, and SunKing. This approach enables underbanked customers in Africa to purchase high-quality products like smartphones.
At the launch event, Samsung’s Product Marketing Manager for East Africa, Ms. Rehema Nyambura, emphasized the importance of device financing in making the company’s products more accessible to customers. Nyambura highlighted that the A-series range of devices is a key part of Samsung’s strategy to offer high-quality devices at an affordable price point.
The Galaxy A-series comprises the A14, A24 5G, A34 5G, and A54 5G models, all of which were introduced to Kenyan customers through a colourful customer engagement event held at the Junction mall. These devices offer high-quality features, including enhanced and wider displays, improved optical image stabilization, and video digital image stabilization.
The A-series range of devices also produces high-quality videos and images in low-light conditions, making use of Samsung Galaxy’s leading Nightography and AI capabilities.
Samsung’s Galaxy A54 5G, for instance, features a 32MP front camera that delivers astonishing detail for perfect selfies and super-smooth video calls. Additionally, the A14 boasts an enhanced, wider, and sharper display with a 6.6” FHD+ large display and high resolution for immersive viewing. Meanwhile, the A34 and A54 feature immersive Super AMOLED displays with improved outdoor visibility even under bright sunlight, thanks to the enhanced Vision Booster and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung’s approach of offering financing options to customers, combined with its alluring product offerings, has helped it to cement its position as a leading player in the electronics industry. The Galaxy A series comes in three color options, including Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, Awesome White, and Awesome Silver, available at any authorized dealer stores nationwide.
