The Vision Pro from Apple will be available this February

Apple has announced the Vision Pro, the company’s first new hardware in a long time – that’s not a phone or a traditional computing device – will be available on February 2nd, 2024. This is sooner than most expected. The new product was announced back in June 2023.

Pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro will begin on Friday, January 19, 2024 and customers in the United States can expect to get their hands on this groundbreaking device starting on February 2, 2024.

The Apple Vision Pro marks a pivotal moment in the world of technology, ushering in the era of spatial computing. Apple’s great marketing is pitching the new hardware as being able redefine how users work, collaborate, relive memories, and enjoy entertainment. This device is driven by an entirely new three-dimensional user interface controlled by a user’s eyes, hands, and voice.

Key Features of the Apple Vision Pro:

A Revolutionary Operating System and User Interface: The Apple Vision Pro runs on visionOS, a spatial operating system that blends decades of engineering innovation from macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. The user interface is entirely three-dimensional, responding to natural light and casting shadows to provide a sense of scale and distance. Users can interact with apps using intuitive gestures and voice commands, making navigation feel magical. The device also introduces immersive Environments, allowing users to expand their world beyond physical boundaries.

Extraordinary Experiences: Vision Pro offers an infinite canvas for productivity and collaboration, freeing apps from the constraints of traditional displays. It supports more than 1 million compatible apps across iOS and iPadOS, providing endless possibilities for users. Key productivity apps, including Fantastical, Freeform, JigSpace, Microsoft 365, and Slack, make it an ideal tool for everyday tasks, while the ability to bring Mac capabilities into Vision Pro offers a portable 4K display for professional workflows.

Memories Brought to Life: With Apple Vision Pro, users can capture and relive memories in entirely new ways. Spatial photos and videos transport users back in time, offering an immersive experience. FaceTime becomes spatial, with participants appearing life-size and Persona, a spatial representation of users, reflecting facial expressions and hand movements in real time. These features are not limited to Apple’s ecosystem and work with third-party videoconferencing apps as well.

Breakthrough Design: The Apple Vision Pro boasts a modular design for personalized fit and comfort. It features a unique combination of materials, including three-dimensionally formed and laminated glass, a custom aluminum alloy frame, and soft textile Light Seal. Flexible straps ensure audio remains close to the user’s ears, and ZEISS Optical Inserts are available for users with vision correction needs.

Unrivaled Innovation in Hardware: The device incorporates cutting-edge technology, with an ultra-high-resolution display system packing 23 million pixels, micro-OLED technology, advanced Spatial Audio, and high-performance eye tracking. The Apple silicon in a dual-chip design, consisting of the M2 and R1 chips, ensures responsive and immersive experiences.

Privacy and Security at Its Core: Apple Vision Pro prioritizes user privacy and security with features like Optic ID, eye tracking privacy, and a visual indicator for capturing spatial content.

Environmentally Conscious Design: The device is designed with environmental sustainability in mind, with 100 percent recycled materials in key components and energy-efficient operation.
