vivo has put a new phone on sale, the Y600s Pro. It went up on vivo’s online store on 9th October 2026, with a 10,200mAh battery and 90W charging. That’s one of the biggest batteries in any phone right now. The software is the odd part. The Y600s Pro runs OriginOS 6, which is built on Android 16.
Google released Android 16 in June 2025. Android 17 reached Pixel phones in June this year, and vivo’s own Android 17 software, OriginOS 7, started reaching its phones in China on the same day the Y600s Pro went on sale. The first batch on 9th October was the X300 series, the X Fold6 and X Fold5, and the Pad6 Pro tablet.
So if you’re looking at the Y600s Pro, the first thing you’ll want to know is when it gets Android 17. vivo hasn’t said.
Every new Android version brings new features, and the phone maker has to rebuild its own software on top of it, phone by phone. That’s why phones get updates months after Google’s Pixels do. Makers also have a limit to how many upgrades a phone can get. So a phone that launches on last year’s version spends its first upgrade catching up to where newer phones started.
vivo hasn’t published an update promise for the Y600s Pro. The company’s China schedule for OriginOS 7 runs in five batches to the end of January 2027.

Can you get it in Kenya?
No. vivo doesn’t sell the Y600s Pro or the exactly similar Y600 Pro (launched back in April) here. vivo Kenya’s phone page lists the X300 Pro, V70, V70 FE, Y500, Y31d, Y21d, Y11d, Y05 and Y05e. vivo’s other big-battery phone this month, the 10,000mAh S2 FE, launched in India last week and hasn’t been confirmed for Kenya either.
The Y600 Pro’s battery still stands out. When we ranked the biggest phone batteries in August, its 10,200mAh cell was second only to the 11,000mAh Honor X80 Pro Max.
